Getting things ready…
Effective 4 September 2026
When you create an account, reels.chat stores your email address, account identifier, subscription status, and billing references. It also stores the questions you ask, generated answers, research activity, usage and cost records, and anything you bookmark.
If you connect reels.chat to ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, another coding agent, or another MCP client, reels.chat stores the connected client identifier, authorization grant, tool calls, tool inputs, results, usage, and security events needed to run and protect that connection. Access and refresh tokens are stored as cryptographic hashes. reels.chat receives the information that the client sends to a tool, not the rest of your conversation unless the client includes it in that tool call.
The site also receives technical and product-use information such as page visits, feature events, device and browser details, IP address, and error or security signals. Analytics events are designed not to include your email, prompts, answers, or other direct personal details.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides basic account information used to authenticate you, such as your email address, name, profile image, and a Google account identifier. reels.chat does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services.
Google account data is used only to sign you in, secure your account, and display your account identity. It is not sold or used for advertising.
reels.chat uses this data to provide and secure the service, produce research answers, save your history and bookmarks, manage subscriptions, deliver sign-in emails, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, understand product use, and meet legal obligations.
Your prompts and relevant research context are sent to service providers that run the search, video analysis, and AI systems needed to answer your questions. Do not submit information you do not want processed for that purpose.
Connected agents may choose when to call a reels.chat tool and which relevant parts of your request to send. You can disconnect a client from your connected apps page. Disconnecting stops new access but does not remove records that reels.chat must retain for security, billing, dispute resolution, or legal reasons.
reels.chat relies on providers including Supabase for account and database services, Google for sign-in and analytics, Vercel for hosting and product analytics, Stripe for payments, Resend for email delivery, TikHub for public social media data, and Google and other model providers for AI processing. Search, caching, and storage providers also process data when needed to deliver their part of the service or meet their own legal duties. Provider names and roles may change as the service changes.
Public TikTok, Instagram, and web material may appear in research results and may be temporarily downloaded, cached, analyzed, and stored with derived observations such as hooks, visual descriptions, public counters, creator identifiers, and source URLs. That material remains subject to the source platform’s terms and privacy practices. reels.chat is not affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok or Instagram.
Account data and saved research are kept while your account is active and for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Billing providers may retain transaction records for their own legal obligations. Data may be processed in countries other than your own.
Cached public-source material and derived research may be kept independently of one account so reels.chat can avoid repeating the same retrieval or analysis. OAuth access tokens expire after one hour. Rotating refresh tokens expire after thirty days unless you disconnect the client sooner.
You can sign out at any time and remove individual bookmarks in the product. To request a copy, correction, or deletion of your account data, email reelschat@jkyf.dev. You can also remove reels.chat from the connected apps section of your Google account to revoke Google sign-in access, or use the reels.chat connected apps page to revoke an MCP client.
reels.chat uses access controls and other safeguards intended to protect stored data, but no online service can guarantee complete security. This policy may change as the service changes. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date.
Questions about this policy can be sent to reelschat@jkyf.dev.
